Faithful are the Wounds of a Friend

Faithful are the Wounds of a Friend

Sep 06, 2020

Passage: 2 Corinthians 1:23-2:13

Preacher: Allen Duty

Series: Messy Church: 2nd Corinthians

Category: Sunday Morning

Last week, we saw that the Corinthians were upset with Paul because he hadn’t come to visit them after he said he would. Some accused him of vacillating and lacking integrity, especially after he sent them an emotional letter calling them to repentance. In this passage, Paul will explain his actions, telling them that if he hurt them in any way, he did it out of love for them in pursuit of reconciliation. We'll be reminded of the truth of the proverb: profuse are the kisses of an enemy, but faithful are the wounds of a friend.
