A City on a Hill That Cannot Be Hidden

A City on a Hill That Cannot Be Hidden

Mar 24, 2019

Passage: Nehemiah 7:1-73

Preacher: Allen Duty

Series: Courageous Leadership: The Book of Nehemiah

Category: Sunday Morning

Summary:

The wall is finished, but the wall wasn't ever the end goal for Nehemiah - or for God. The wall was to surround the city, which was literally and figuratively a city on a hill. God's desire from the very beginning was a people for his own possession who, by their holy and worshipful lives, reflected his glory and pointed the nations to Him. Jesus said that we are a city on a hill, but maybe we've gotten distracted and are more focused on building walls than building God's kingdom. We'll learn that a city on a hill must be defined by godly priorities, godly leaders, and godly people reflecting God's glory.
