Born in Coweta, Oklahoma, John was raised by faithful parents who modeled Jesus and introduced their son to Him. He came to Christ as a young child and his parents discipled him in faith as he grew up. A certified high-school chemistry teacher, John holds degrees in Secondary Education, Aerospace Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering all from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!). Today he serves as the Executive Director of Bethel Agricultural Association, a faith based non-profit setting up an agricultural training center and soil testing laboratory in Woliso, Ethiopia.
John and his wife Briana moved to the Brazos Valley in 2020 and joined New Life the next year. He has been an active member of the Worship, Production and Usher teams and loves New Life’s intergenerational life groups and focus on building the family community of the church body. Curious and compassionate, John spends his free time exploring the world around him through reading, attending concerts, traveling, or just being outside with Briana. He is a lover of typewriters, metalcore music, and great board games and is fluent in sarcasm.
