WELCOME TO NEW LIFE!
At New Life, we are all about making mature disciples of Jesus Christ. On Sunday mornings, we gather to read the Scriptures, to sing to God and to one another, to hear the Word of God preached, to observe baptisms and the Lord's Supper, and to pray.
We also offer discipleship classes for all ages, small groups throughout the week, and opportunities to follow Christ together
WHAT TO EXPECT
Visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating. We hope this page will help you know what to expect when you visit us on Sunday morning beginning at 9:15 am. We can’t wait to meet you!
Our philosophy of worship is simple and is derived from the commands of Scripture. We believe that when we gather, we should:
READ THE SCRIPTURES
Paul commanded Timothy to devote himself to the public reading of Scripture (1 Tim. 4:13a). Because of this, we structure our worship services to devote time to the public reading of Scripture.
SING TO GOD AND TO ONE ANOTHER
Worship through song has the dual purpose of honoring God and edifying the church (Eph. 5:19). Our worship team plays a variety of songs that feature God-glorifying, biblical lyrics, ranging from ancient hymns of our faith to songs written specifically for New Life.
PREACH THE WORD
Paul wrote to Timothy, “I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word…” (2 Tim. 4:1–2). We believe that one of the primary ways that God speaks to us is through the preaching of the Word. Our pastors preach verse-by-verse through Scripture explaining and applying the Bible as the authors intended.
OBSERVE THE ORDINANCES
At New Life, we invite all baptized believers to receive the Lord’s Supper weekly in our worship service, which symbolizes our communion with God and one another through faith in Jesus our Lord.
We also regularly celebrate baptism at the end of our worship services, which symbolizes our death with Christ and our resurrection to new life through faith in him (Rom. 6:4). Those being baptized share the story of how they came to faith in Jesus and are immersed in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in obedience to Jesus (Matt. 28:19-20).
PRAY TO GOD THROUGH CHRIST OUR MEDIATOR
Paul writes, “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving” (Col. 4:2). We believe that we can do nothing apart from God, and we believe that God answers us when we pray to Him through Christ our Mediator. We do not use prayer as a “filler” before moving on to another aspect of the service. Rather, we are intentional regarding how we pray and what we pray for.
Children of all ages are welcome in our Sunday morning worship services. Preschool care is also available for children under four. For older children and youth, worship resources are available to encourage them to actively engage in the service.
During the school year at 11:00 am, we offer classes and opportunities for all ages. Our NextGen Ministry (ages 0-18) teach children from God’s Word and encourage them to joyfully respond in faith to God’s gracious character and commands.
We offer Coffee & Conversation for both College students and Adults, which is an opportunity to meet new people, enjoy fellowship and prayer, and make lasting connections.
Additionally, we offer Equipping Classes throughout the year on a variety of subjects to help believers walk in joyful obedience to God.
We would love to see you soon! If you have questions about our worship services, preschool care, or anything else, we are here to help you.
