Facing Opposition with Faith (Pt. 2)

Facing Opposition with Faith (Pt. 2)

Mar 03, 2019

Passage: Nehemiah 6:1-19

Preacher: Allen Duty

Series: Courageous Leadership: The Book of Nehemiah

Category: Sunday Morning

Keywords: courageous leadership, nehemiah

In this text, Nehemiah's adversaries display relentless opposition - seeking to distract him from the work, then seeking to kill him, then seeking to have the king kill him as a traitor. The chapter even ends with references to the fact that the opposition goes on through Jews who were allied in marriage with Tobiah, one of the chief adversaries. Back in chapter 4, we learned that opposition is certain, so we must learn to face it with faith. But while we might be prepared to face opposition, we may not be prepared for its relentless nature. Satan doesn't quickly or easily give up on us. We'll learn that opposition is constant, so we must learn to face it with faith.
